The American Gem Trade Association (AGTA), a major professional
organization in the jewelry industry focusing on color gemstones, sponsors a design competition every year. These competitions encompass
a variety of categories: bridal wear, evening wear, men's wear, stone cutting, classic gems, etc. This is
a worldwide competition, with entries from extraordinarily talented jewelry designers, and how AGTA picks "the"
winners in each category is mind-boggling. These items are always cutting edge pieces! Each year we get to
view the winners' pieces at the AGTA show in Tucson. For more information go to: http://www.agta.org/ . We are pleased to be able to offer jewelry from three very active fine jewelry designers,
who are AGTA award winners themselves. Most of their work consists of one-of-a-kind pieces. Two of the designers, Gordon
Aatlo and Mark Schneider, are third generation jewelers, both designing original contemporary jewelry. Gordon likes
to design around one-of-a-kind gemstones, with contemporary and classic designs, and Mark creates simplicity and clean,
fluid lines, utilizing unusual gemstones and diamonds. Jeffrey Bilgore specializes in finding exceptional gemstones
from around the world and incorporating them in to very classic, traditional styles.
